A TALENTED JUNIOR BASKETBALL PLAYER NEEDS MODERN HEARING AIDS!
Dmytro is 16 years old. He studies at an educational and rehabilitation institution for children with hearing impairment in Dnipro. The boy is a talented athlete, his basketball team has won numerous prizes in All-Ukrainian and International competitions.
Dmytro takes an active part in all school events, dances beautifully and organizes charity performances together with his friends to support animal shelters and the needs of the Armed Forces. However, the boy's full-time studies and life are complicated by his diagnosis — third-degree sensorineural hearing loss.
The boy had to use hearing aids in both ears from early childhood. Now he needs to replace the devices, because the old ones fail. Dmytro is currently studying online. This is very difficult for hearing impaired children. Hearing aids provided by a government program are not suitable.
Existing devices do not adapt to the speakers' dynamics, and therefore ring in the ears, create discomfort and increase fatigue. Also, the main part of the remote lesson is not perceived by the child. Even traveling in transport causes discomfort and forces you to turn off your devices, which is dangerous during martial law.
Thanks to the efforts of specialists in a specialized kindergarten and school, a teacher of the deaf, as well as a basketball coach, Dmytro always received good rehabilitation and correction. Acquired skills cannot be lost! After all, most universities do not have sign language interpreters, and therefore the need to hear is the basis for getting a decent education and life.
